Edge 70 Review: Hidden Features, Price Breakdown & Verdict

Okay, so in the recent phone launches, one of the few phones that made buzz or you guys laughed is the Motorola H70. So I was about to write down my experiences for H70. But then but then the most important question clicked me. How does this slim phone holds up against other allrounder smartphones in similar price point? So with the rising prices of smartphones, we picked up two worthy allrounders at this price. First the S24 FE. It is selling for around 30 32,000. Next, someone in the comment asked for

OPPO Reno 14 comparison

an OPPO Reno 14 comparison. Now, do note Oppo Reno4 has had a price hike online. It's selling for around 40,000. So, should you get the Motorola 870? How does it compare with phones in similar price range? We want to do more comparisons and reviews. So, the tech keeps intact in these videos like really motivate us. Techwise, let's compare these phones. Now when a brand focuses heavily on a different form factor phone, it changes how the entire product is balanced. Like slim phones are more

expensive to build, tighter internal layouts, more thermal optimizations, and more precise manufacturing. Now in the mid-range, the smartphone makers can't simply increase the phone's price to recover that cost. And they also can't afford to cut core hardware like batteries or cameras too aggressively. So what usually takes the hit is the inbox contents. With Reno 14, you get everything in the box. With the H70, you almost get everything except a case in the box. Whereas on the S24 FE, you get

the ultimate flagship experience and there's no charger. There's no case in. So overall, in terms of box contents, the Reno 14 gets a full point. You get everything in the box. H70 gets half a point. S24 FE sadly gets no points. But these decisions don't just end at the box. So let's move from what's around the phone to the phone itself. Now, my personal favorite has been this Reno 14. It has a smooth gradient effect for the camera island. It makes it feel like it's gluing or there's an LED here

6,000 mAh battery

inside, but actually it's just a reflection of the camera island. Now, the back here has a frosted glass. So, the small scratches and all, they just go off by wiping. The side frame here is made up of aluminium alloy, which makes the Reno 14's design more premium. Even in hand, it feels premium and it feels very light considering this has a 6,000 mAh battery. And for those accidental water splashes and all, the Reno 14 comes with IP68 plus IP69 rating. Now, if you move on to the S24 FE, it has

that signature Samsung flagship design. It looks very similar to the flagship S24 series. It has a glossy glass back. The back here is a fingerprint magnet, but on this color, it's a bit hard to [music] notice. A case can solve this problem. Side frames here are made up of aluminium, and the moment you hold it in hands, it feels heavy. Build-wise, the glass back has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus Plus protection, and for those accidental splashes, it comes with IP68 rating. Now, finally, the [music] H70.

weighs 159 g

This comes with a textured back which feels different but in a good way. It's premium. The camera rings have this green accent. The moment you hold it in the hands, you feel a bit confused. Like phone with this screen size, how can it be so light? Whereas other phones weigh more than 200 g. This thing only weighs 159 g. That too including a 5,000 mAh battery. Like you have to really hold it in your hand to feel what I'm saying. Along with this, for those accidental drops and splashes, the H70 has military

grade protection with IP68 plus IP69 rating as well. Now, design choices are highly subjective, but overall in build and design, I feel the Reno 14 and the H70 would attract most people. It gets one point whereas [music] the S24 FE gets half a point. Now, build and design decide how the phone feels in your hand. But another important factor is [music] the thing that you always look at, the display. See, all the phones on paper seems to have a good display, but how are they in [music] real life? So, we

played the same movie on Netflix. The brightness colors are slightly better on the S24 FE followed by [music] H70 and the Reno 14. Also, another thing to mention here is the H70 doesn't support HDR on Netflix, whereas the S24 FE and the Reno 14 support HDR. [music] But having said that, there is some glitch in the Reno 14. Whenever you play an HDR movie on Netflix, the H70 looks brighter than Reno 14. And overall, even in indoors, outdoors, the S24's display is the brightest. Followed by Reno 14

and H70, both of them look similar. So overall in displays the S24 F gets a full point. H70 gets half a point for having good brightness and no points to Reno 14 because that HDR bug is annoying while you try to watch content on OTT. All right, so this comparison is at a very interesting point. All the three phones have the same score. But here's the thing, a great screen means nothing if the experience isn't solid. I mean the software. Now S24 FE has got the 1 UI 8 update. Now, if I have to just give

you a highlighting point of 1 UI, it's Galaxy AI. You can draw things in your photo and create a new one. Like I can just draw an airplane on this photo. And damn, it looks so real. [music] And then again, you have the goated woodlock modules for crazy customization. And on top of this, you can have ecosystem features if you along the line get a Samsung laptop. Now, in terms of updates, the S24 FE has the highest update. It gets 7 years of software plus 7 years of security update. The Reno 14

was launched with Android 15, but recently it got the update of latest Color OS 16. Now, Color OS 16 feels like a major update. It feels faster and more polished. Plus, there are tons of genuinely useful features. If you tap and hold on Instagram, you can add the DM widget, so you can directly slide into DMs. Keeping the jokes aside, Color OS now has open ecosystem features as well, like really open. You can connect it with a MacBook and share files and control your phone. In terms of AI features, you get a dedicated AI editor

option in the gallery. Now, you [music] can do from erasing objects to upscaling images, all of that. Even the global search here as AI. So, if I just search for my flight ticket, I get the ticket of my trip from the PDF that is stored in my storage. Having said all of that, the Reno 14 has third party pre-installed apps. Now, you can easily uninstall them. Plus, there's app pics which keeps sending random notification. Again, you can go here and turn it off in the app settings. In terms of

software update, the Reno 14 will get 5 plus 6 years of security update. Now, the H70 runs on Hello UI based on the latest Android 16. Now, we have a dedicated video on it, but just to give you some really useful features, you get app lock, which is again very helpful in case you have an annoying friend who always opens your WhatsApp, you can just lock it. Along with this, there is smart connect as well. [music] You can download the app on any Windows laptop and you have an open ecosystem right

now. You can connect your Motorola phone with any Windows laptop and then you can copy files from the phone to the laptop easily. There's also a dedicated AI key on the Motorola H70. And one really useful feature of this AI key is [music] update me feature. You just press the AI button and tap on update me. It will summarize all the notifications that you have and tell you the gist of it or only the important ones. Now there are some third party apps installed on the Motorola 7 which again you can uninstall

easily. In terms of software update, the H70 gets 3 plus 4 years of update. So overall I feel in terms of software all three phones get full points because feature- wise all of them are just there. In terms of bloware third party apps you get it on all of them. And in terms of ecosystem features [music] you get all of it. So point to each. But at the end of the day great software only matters if the phone can actually keep up with it. That brings us to the performance section. And the Reno 14 comes with the MediaTek dimensity 8350

processor whereas the H70 comes with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 and the S24 FE comes with the Exynos 2400E. It is a slightly downgraded version of the Exynos 2400. All the three phones have UFS 3.1 storage. Now in benchmarks we first ran Android2 benchmark same version on all the three phones. It runs the phone CPU GPU RAM at 100% and gives it a score. Here the S24 F scores the highest followed by Reno 14 and then H70. [music] Next we ran the extreme stress test in 3D Mark. The H70 has the best stability, followed by S24 FE and

Renault 14. Next up, we ran the CPU throttling test as well. The H70 [music] has least throttling, followed by Reno 14 and S24 FE. So, the Ed70, even after being so slim, has actually surprised us in the performance. Now, in real life scenario, does the same thing hold up? See, multitasking was fairly decent on all the three phones. Next, we pushed the phone further with gaming. First, we played BJMI for 30 minutes on all the three [music] phones. The H70 and S24 FE both support 120 fps whereas the Reno 14

only supports 90 fps [music] and this has been my plight for the entire year. MediaTek processors and game FPS just don't go hand in hand. Now out of the three phones, the gameplay on the H70 was the best. We got around 104 average FPS at the end of the [music] game play. The temperature was also 35.7°. On the Reno 14, we got around an average of 79 [music] FPS. And again, at the end of the game play, the temperature was fairly good, around 35°. But on the S24 FE, things were not so good. Even though it has 120 FPS

support, we got an average [music] FPS of around 83. Also, 20 minutes being into the game, the game play was very choppy. Like the [music] FPS dropped to as low as 60 to 70. And it's not like it's getting hot. At the end of the game play, the temperature was only 34 degrees, [music] but the game experience was really bad. After BJMI, we pushed it to the max with Wooding Waves. We kept the settings high on all the three phones [music] and selected 60 FPS on all of them. Out of all the three

phones, the gameplay on the Reno 14 in wooding ways was the best. We got an [music] average FPS of 47 and at the end of the game play, the temperature was around 36.6°. On the H70, even though we got an average FPS of 44, but the gameplay wasn't too choppy, and the temperature was also under control around 35°. On the S24 FE, again, [music] similar experience. The gameplay was choppy. The frame drops are pretty bad and it was dropping to as low as 15 to 20 FPS. So, we got an average of around 35 fps and it's not like it's

heating. The temperature is fine. It is around 34.8° but the gameplay experience is choppy. So, overall in performance, the H70 really surprised us. Like even after being a slim phone, the performance it has is on par with the other phones. So, the H70 and Reno 14 gets one point whereas the S24 FE gets half a point. Maybe the gameplay experience could improve after further updates, but it is what it is right now. Now, performance means nothing if the phone can't last through the day, which brings us to

battery and charging. The Reno 14 has 6,000 mAh lithium polymer battery. The H70 has 5,000 mAh lithium ion silicon carbon battery, whereas the S24 FE has 4,700 mAh lithium ion battery. Now, in our usage of playing games, clicking pictures, watching deals, everything, the Renault 14 lasts slightly longer than the H70. The S24 FE if you push very hard, you might have to charge it twice a day. Now, in terms of charging, the Reno 14 supports 80 watt fast charging. It takes about 30 to 40 minutes to top up the phone. The S70

supports 68 watt charging and it takes about 30 minutes to get up to 100%. Whereas the S24 FE supports 25 watt fast charging. Yeah, it takes about 45 to 50 minutes to top up the phone to 100%. Now, the S24 FE and the H70 also support 15 watt wireless charging, but the S24 FE supports reverse wireless charging as well. So you can charge TWWS or Samsung watch. Overall in terms of battery, the Reno4 and S70 gets one point. They perform really good and easily last you through one full day whereas the S24 FE

gets half a point. The optimizations are not that good and you might have to charge it twice if you push the phone quite hard. Now coming to the most awaited part, cameras. See the Reno 14 and the S24 FE come with a proper triple camera setup whereas the H70 only has a dual camera setup. If you see these pictures, most of the time all three phones get the photos right. Out of the three, I felt S24 FE skin tone and colors are closer to natural, but for some reason it reduces the blacks in the picture. Like in this photo, the

trousers look black in Reno 14 and S70, but the S24 FE has kind of made it a lighter black or gray. And this difference keeps on hopping. Like see in the next photo, the tree in the background blur is not completely blurred out on H70, but in the next shot, the blur is pretty good. And this very same photo it is clicked using telephoto camera on the Reno 14 and S24 FE. Whereas on the N70 it is a 2x in sensor zoom from the main camera. But if you look at the photo Reno 14 and S70 photo looks sharp compared to the S24

FE. And again in this next photo we clicked in 3x. If you zoom in 70 surprisingly has bitter details. S24 has some noise whereas the Reno 14 has some processing issues on the face. When you switch the subject to flash the Reno 14 and S24 gets the color flat whereas the H70 nails it. In selfies, all three phones click good selfies. In videos, the Reno49 S70 can shoot in 4K 60 fps, whereas the S24 FE can shoot in 8K 30fps. But come on, frankly, who's shooting in 8K? You got to save the memory. After all, memory is the new

gold. Not an investment advice. Jokes aside, we took this sample in 4K 30 fps. The H70's videos has got the color and light control better. S24's video looks underlit. Overall in cameras, what we observed is out of the three, the H70 camera is more consistent in terms of colors and skin tones. And due to the newer algorithm, even the sharpness is on point. So the H70 gets one point. And for the dedicated telephoto camera and better hardware, I would give S24 FE and Renault 14 half a point each. And with

that, if you see, there's not much difference in points. Motorola and Oppo are first, whereas the S24 FE is second. But here's the most interesting part, pricing. Both the S24 FE and Renault [music] 14 are currently available for around 33 to 35,000. In fact, after some time, you would see Reno [music] 14 selling for 40,000. Whereas, in spite of all the price hike and chip shortage, [music] the H70 with all the simness is feature packed, you get it for around 28 triple 9. But the bigger question we

wanted to answer was does slim automatically mean compromise. See, after using all the three phones side by side, the answer is not really. The H70 proves that a slim phone doesn't have to feel [music] underpowered or incomplete or even fragile despite being lighter and thinner than the other phones. It kept it with performance, held up its own in gaming, plus really surprises with the consistency in [music] cameras. And most importantly, it didn't feel like something was missing. That being

said, this doesn't mean the other two phones are bad. If battery life and charging speed are your top priorities, I [music] think the Reno 14 makes a lot of sense. And if long-term software updates, ecosystem features, or if you already have a Samsung laptop, or you prefer Samsung phones, the S24 FE is a very safe choice. But if you want a phone that feels different the moment you pick it up, looks premium without being bulky and still performs like a proper mid-range allrounder. The H70 is

the most exciting option in this comparison. So, the real takeaway here is slim is no longer a compromise when it's done right. And this is coming from someone who uses iPhone Air as a second device. It's always battery low. On that note, this signing off. See you in the next video. Pew pew pew.
